Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
Renowned pianist, a laureate of international contests Luka Safronov performed at the International Mugham Centre with a solo concert, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of “Баку” Magazine, November 6.
The concert took place with organizational support from the Heydar Aliyev Center and the International Mugham Centre.
Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva attended the concert.
Works by world-renowned composers Beethoven, F.Chopin, S.Rakhmaninov and P.Tchaikovsky were performed by the renowned pianist.
Born on October 31, 1990 in Moscow, Luka Safronov is loved not only in Russia, but also beyond its boundaries. Safronov started playing piano since he was only 5 years old. By 6, he participated in underage groups’ international contest. The pianist is a laureate of 16 international contests held in the Great Britain, Italy, Bulgaria, Switzerland and other countries. So far, he has participated in a number of charitable concerts, with over a thousand concerts in total. World-renowned cellist and conductor Mstislav Rostropovich, having listened to the performance of L.Safronov in Moscow, said he will be a great musician in future.
Young pianist Luka Safronov said: “I have been engaged in charity works. I had the occasion to meet a person like Leyla Aliyeva, which I believe God made happen because of my charity works. I met her at an event dedicated to children suffering from cancer. Azerbaijan has impressed me greatly. Your country is such a place where you wish to stay to live in. There is a great deal of development and beauty. Azerbaijan is a beautiful, developing and rich country.”
L.Safronov’s Baku concert was memorable. His performances were welcomed by the audience with applauses.

The magazine also contained information about Azerbaijan’s achievements in various spheres, works carried out towards modernization and further development of Azerbaijan, and interviews with renowned people that aroused interest in readers. Colourful photos associated with Azerbaijan’s well-known personalities, history, culture, cuisine and nature beautify the magazine’s pages. “Baku International”, an English version of the magazine “Баку” - each edition of which has been welcomed by readers with great interest - is printed since 2011.
