14 years have passed since Heydar Aliyev, the architect and builder of the independent Azerbaijani state, world-renowned political figure and Azerbaijani people’s national leader, passed away.
On December 12, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and family members paid a visit to the grave of Azerbaijani people’s national leader Heydar Aliyev, having arrived at the Alley of Honours.
President Ilham Aliyev put flowers before the grave of the National Leader.
The anthem of the state of Azerbaijan was performed.
President Ilham Aliyev and family members then put flowers before the grave of eminent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, the spouse of the National Leader.
Renowned state figure Aziz Aliyev and professor Tamerlan Aliyev too were remembered, and bunches of flowers were put on their graves.
