A grandiose concert programme was arranged in the park before the Heydar Aliyev Centre on the occasion of Ilham Aliyev’s decisive victory in the presidential elections held in Azerbaijan on April 11.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and family members attended the event.

Well-known host, Honoured Artist Murad Dadashov said:

- Dear friends, yesterday, the people of Azerbaijan, the world Azerbaijanis made their historical choice. The people of Azerbaijan once more said, “to continue”, “to continue with Ilham Aliyev” this successful way.

Dear fellow citizens, dear friends, you have shown your love for the Azerbaijani President, and today, Mister President has come here, onto this scene to say you his heartfelt words. Please welcome President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Addressing the event, President Ilham Aliyev said:

- Dear friends, I sincerely welcome all of you to this event. I want to thank you and the whole people of Azerbaijan for the support you have provided to me.

I have always felt the support of the people of Azerbaijan, and relied on this support. In my activities, the support of the Azerbaijani people has been playing a key role. I have always tried to serve my people with loyalty and dignity.

Yesterday, the people of Azerbaijan made their choice. Yesterday, the people of Azerbaijan endorsed our policy, voting once more for stability, development, progress, and independent policy. In a true meaning of the word, Azerbaijan has reached the highest summits, pursuing an independent policy. Our influence on the international arena is growing day-by-day. Azerbaijan is a country worthy of great respect in the world. Our internal situation is stable. The people of Azerbaijan have been living in peaceful conditions. All freedoms are ensured in the country.

The presidential elections that took place yesterday once more testified that all kinds of freedom are ensured in Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijan has been successfully moving forward on the path of democracy. Open, transparent and rightfully held elections have reflected the will of the Azerbaijani people. The support I have been provided in these elections inspires me more, giving me more strength. In these elections, our people have voted both for the works done, real outcomes and, at the same time, for our happy future. I am confident our country will continue advancing successfully. The people of Azerbaijan will go on living in stability, and safe conditions.

Today, Azerbaijan is known on a world scale as an island of stability. Azerbaijan has been known as an exemplary country on a world scale. In the course of the last 15 years, there was no country to have reached such results in economic terms.

The people of Azerbaijan made their choice. We all should try to make our country stronger. Today’s Azerbaijani state is strong. Nonetheless, we have to make it stronger. We should build a stronger Azerbaijan. We are on the path of democracy. No outside force is capable of reversing our direction on this path. This path is chosen consciously by the Azerbaijani people. We are an independent country. We are a great people. Only a great people can reach such great achievements. Azerbaijan could reach so many achievements only in the conditions of independence. Our destiny is in our hands. Turning to the people of Azerbaijan, I want to say – I see majority of those gathered here are young – the future of our country is in your hands. We take pride in our youth. The young generation being raised today will rule Azerbaijan in the future, leading to a happy future on the path of independence.

We are an independent, strong country. We have been following the path we had once started. I am confident this path will take Azerbaijan to a happier future. Glory to Azerbaijan! Long live Azerbaijan!

The biggest achievement the head of our state has reached is the endless love of the people. In all his meetings, President Ilham Aliyev could manage to attract people, first of all, by his sincerity, gathering millions around himself by his strong will, and leadership qualities, working in the name of independent and strong Azerbaijan. The development conception implemented by President Ilham Aliyev has permanently entered the life of all Azerbaijanis. The citizen of Azerbaijan is the only bedrock lying on the state policy determined by him.
