On April 6, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva became familiarized, at the Baku Expo Centre, with “AITF-2018” 17th Azerbaijan International Tourism and Travels and “HOREX Caucasus-2018” 12th Caucasus International Hotel, Restaurant and Supermarkets Equipment and Appliances exhibitions.

The Head of the State and the First Lady were given information about the exhibitions.

Held under the slogan “The Whole World-One Exhibition”, the exhibition was represented by 277 companies from 20 countries. Participants included Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Dominican, Georgia, Indonesia, Italy, Switzerland, Morocco, Russia, Slovenia, Thailand, Turkey etc. Visitors were given a chance to make themselves familiarized with over 90 foreign tourism destinations, as well as recreation places within the countries. This time’s exhibition presents various airways, hotel networks, as well as other touristic service types. The Caucasus International Hotel, Restaurant and Supermarkets Equipment and Appliances Exhibition is of significant importance in terms of presenting products and services, and holding efficient exchange of views and experiences with leading industrial companies, and customers and partners.

President Ilham Aliyev first became familiarized with the stand of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. A number of national entities are represented at the exhibition, along with the ministry. These companies offer services on various directions of tourism. In general, information is given at the stand about Azerbaijan’s tourism routes and destinations and, along with the capital, existing tourism potential of the districts, and their infrastructure. Here, visitors are also given information about Azerbaijan’s candidacy to host the “EXPO-2025” World Exhibition.

Some 15 companies are represented at the stand of the Tourism Association of Azerbaijan. These companies are specialised in hotel and tourism businesses. Information may be received here about existing hotel complexes, recreation sites and entertainment centres in Baku and regions.

Great interest was observed at the exhibition towards the Garabagh stand. Natural beauties of Garabagh - eternal land of Azerbaijan - made special impression on the visitors. Natural resources of other districts too are displayed at the exhibition.

According to the information given at the stand of the Icherisheher State History and Architecture Reserve, towards which tourists coming to Baku show more interest, a new Touristic Information Centre has already started to operate. Located in various parts of the Old City, the centre aims to make sure that tourists more easily become acquainted with Icherisheher. A single and centralised tourism management system and a new tourist Internet portal have been created in the centre, where state-of-the-art information methods are applied. All information has been uploaded onto a special information monitor.

“Medical and health tourism” sector is also extensively represented at the exhibition. Participants of this sector demonstrate various possibilities of benefiting from highly qualified medical services, along with choosing recreation destinations.

To continue until April 7, the exhibition is supported by such international entities as the UN World Tourism Organization and Asia-Pacific Ocean Tourism Association. Organizers of the exhibition are “Iteca Caspian” and “ITE Group”, its partner in the Great Britain.
