President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin presents the “Pushkin” Medal to Leyla Aliyeva
On April 5, a blood donation action took place for children under the slogan “Blood has no nationality” at the Child Haematology, Oncology and Immunology National Medical Research Centre named after Dmitri Rogachov in Moscow, following the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, the vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the founder and head of Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia (AYOR).
Over 40 students took part in the action.
AYOR board of directors’ member Emin Hajiyev said: “A charitable action is held today at the Child Haematology, Oncology and Immunology National Medical Research Centre, following Leyla Aliyeva’s initiative. Azerbaijani students and youth studying and residing in Moscow participated in the action organized by AYOR. Of course, what we all want is that children are never down with oncological diseases. Nonetheless, over 6 thousand children are suffering from this disease in Russia. We are hopeful, by holding such actions, we would help these children, to some extent, overcome the disease.”
E.Hajiyev underscored that the compensations paid to blood donors will be transferred to the hospital’s account.
The action “Blood has no nationality” has been held for over 10 years. This action is arranged not only in Moscow, but also in regions of the Russian Federation. Each year, thousands of youth participate in this action, and the funds so collected are spent for the treatment of diseased children.
