Then, the documentary “Absheron National Park” was shown. The film is about the youngest national park in Azerbaijan. Created in 2005, this park is located 60 kilometres from Baku. Although its territory is not big, the park has its own unique features. The rich animal world of this area is concentrated in one peninsula. The territory’s being close by the capital makes it easy to come here. The park’s another peculiarity is its being close by the Caspian Sea.
Leyla Aliyeva is the initiator of the project “9 Wonders of Azerbaijan”. Documentary films will be produced about 9 national parks of the country under the project. Other films will be about Shahdagh, Hirkan, Altyaghaj, Zangazur and Samur-Yalama national parks.
The objective of IDEA’s project “9 Wonders of Azerbaijan” is to promote enigmatic natural beauties of our country and bring to attention the importance of the environment’s protection.
