Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.

The Baku Book Center hosted Friday the presentation of the manual "A grammar of contemporary Azerbaijani."

The authors of the book, which was published with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, are linguist Sabina Aliyeva and Vice-Rector for International Relations of Azerbaijan University of Languages Jala Garibova.
Addressing the event, Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, said that the authors of the manual started working on it for almost 5 years.
Emphasizing that Azerbaijani compatriots residing abroad consider the preservation and development of the Azerbaijani language as a principal priority, the committee chairman mentioned the "Azerbaijani houses" established abroad under the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva.
The other speakers, including linguist Sabina Aliyeva, Vice-rector for International Relations of Azerbaijan University of Languages Jala Garibova, Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages Kamal Abdulla, Director of the Monitoring Center at the State Language Commission Sevinj Aliyeva, and Academician, Director of the National Azerbaijan Literature Museum named after Nizami Ganjavi Rafael Huseynov highlighted the importance of the books on the Azerbaijani language, describing these publications as a service to the Motherland. They underscored that this manual would become a valuable source for everyone who wish to learn the Azerbaijani language in the future.
