On March 6, Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, head of the Russian Representative Office of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva visited the Moscow Research and Development Centre which provides medical support to children born with craniofacial anomaly and nervous system diseases.
The Centre, a state-run institution, was established in 1995. There are 20 doctors of medicine and 32 candidates of medical science among the specialists working at the centre which provides qualified medical assistance to children under 18.
Leyla Aliyeva acquainted herself with the conditions created at the neurosurgery, new-born and preterm-born infants’ pathology and oncology departments, the clinical diagnostics laboratory, radio-diagnosis department and genetics service, and talked to children being treated here, and their parents.
Children receiving medical treatment here were presented souvenirs from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Leyla Aliyeva talked with the clinic’s management. Director of the Research and Development Centre Andrei Pritiko thanked the Russian Representative Office of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the support provided to diseased children.
Leyla Aliyeva talked about the program “Better Care for Children with Diabetes” being implemented in Azerbaijan, as well as the Thalassemia Centre built in Baku following the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s initiative. Cooperation in the field of palliative assistance between the Moscow Centre and medical institutions of Azerbaijan was discussed at the meeting.
