An exhibition on the theme of “Africa’s Wildlife” opened at the Heydar Aliyev Center

On May 7, an exhibition on the theme of “Africa’s Wildlife” by Adrian Stern, a photographer and director, who has travelled to a number of world countries driven  by his passion for animal world, opened at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

The exhibition was arranged within the framework of the Caucasian Biodiversity Summit, following the initiative of IDEA (International Dialogue for Environmental Action) Public Association, with the organizational support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Heydar Aliyev Center.

The inauguration was attended by Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, and the Foundation’s Vice-president, founder and head of IDEA Public Association Leyla Aliyeva.

Objective of the exhibition was to draw the public’s attention to the richness of the wildlife and significance of its protection. 35 works of the author are displayed at the exhibition. The author has shot these pictures, describing the diverse flora and fauna of Africa, while travelling to the South African Republic, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Tanzania and Uganda during the last 10 years.

At the moment, Adrian Stern is working on a documentary about the Caucasian leopard and its existence in Azerbaijan.
