Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
On May 10, Nursery No.1 in Nasimi district of Baku was commissioned after major repair and reconstruction.
Azerbaijan’s First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, Foundation’s Vice-president Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva attended the inauguration of the nursery.
Constructed in 1930, the building had fallen into disrepair due to no repair being performed until recently. First repair works at the nursery was performed in 2005 following the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. In October last year, major repair and reconstruction works started on the building with the support of the Foundation. The building of the nursery is totally renewed, modern air conditioning system installed, water, gas and illumination lines renewed, and the backyard improved.
Mehriban Aliyeva made herself acquainted with the sleeping, feeding, medical examination rooms, the laboratory and the physical training room. This child-education establishment has been rebuilt following all standards and provided with modern beds and toys. Entertainment facilities have been installed here in order for children to spend their free time efficiently.
Mehriban Aliyeva made her acquainted with the organization of the medical service and inquired about the children’s health. The First Lady was informed that 44 children deprived of parental care up to 3 years of age are brought up here. They pass regular medical examination and have no problem with their health condition.
Touching upon also the issue of food provision at the nursery, Mehriban Aliyeva underscored the significance of children’s being fed timely and healthily.
Satisfied with the conditions created at the nursery, Mehriban Aliyeva, Leyla Aliyeva and Arzu Aliyeva presented a motor vehicle to the establishment.
