Informal friendship meeting was held with veterans of Great Patriotic War at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in the Russian Federation on the initiative of Representation of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in RF.

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, Head of Representation of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Russia Leila Aliyeva, member of Public Chamber by the Russian President Maria Bolshakova, first deputy chairperson of Presidium of Russia Peace Foundation, chairperson of Moscow Province Organization of the Foundation Antonina Bagayeva, late marshal M.Katukov’s spouse Ekaterina Katukova, official of Istra City Government Alexander Churilov, famous writer Rudolph Ivanov, representatives of Moscow Province Women Union, Azerbaijani and Russian veterans of Great Patriotic War were present in the meeting.

Expressing thanks for the meeting and concern shown to them veterans said such relations strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two nations and countries. Veterans shared memories, stressed heroism of Azerbaijanis, the role of our country in victory over fascism. Speakers expressed readiness for joint actions, advanced initiatives for cooperation and joint events such granting the title of Battle Glory City to the capital of Azerbaijan, externalization of memory of Azeri fighters died in Moscow. Chairperson of Moscow Province Organization of Russia Peace Foundation Antonina Bagayeva said her organization had collected books for Azeri children and would send to them. She recalled the Foundation invited Azerbaijani children last year to the summer camp in Moscow Province and would do this year too.  

Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu said the meeting was organized as the sign of respect to the war veterans. He noted victory over fascism is our common victory and such meetings bring our nations closer.

Sincerely greeting guests Head of Representation of Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Russia Leila Aliyeva talked of humanitarian actions of the Foundation and its representation in different countries. She underlined the Foundation has a lot of plans and projects for future yet.
