A high-level panel discussion on “Strengthening Environmental Governance and International Cooperation for the Protection of the Caspian Sea” was held at the UN headquarters in Geneva, co-organized by the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, the Caspisnet Scientific Network and the Secretariat of the Tehran Convention.

On January 29, Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, head and founder of the IDEA Public Union, met with Grethel Aguilar, Director General of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), in Gland, Switzerland.

On January 22, a signing ceremony for the Board of Peace Charter was held in Davos.  

As part of the World Economic Forum, President of the United States Donald Trump delivered a special address in Davos on January 21. This was followed by a panel session held with the participation of Donald Trump.  

Leyla Aliyeva met with Abiy Ahmed Ali, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, to discuss the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Ethiopia.  

Leyla Aliyeva has visited several social and cultural institutions in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

As part of her visit to Ethiopia, Leyla Aliyeva visited the MESOB One-Stop Service Center, located in the capital Addis Ababa.
