Family values are deep-rooted in Azerbaijan, and have been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. Care of youngsters, and respect for the elderly are cherished traditions in our country.
On June 18, taekwondo competitions took place within the framework of the 1st European Games. Our two sportsmen won medals - Milad Beigi gold, and Farida Azizova silver, whereby the number of gold medals won by Azerbaijan at the 1st European Games became 12.
On June 17, competitions on free style wrestling were held at the Heydar Aliyev Sports Palace within the framework of the 1st European Games. President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady, Chairperson of the 1st European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva, and family members watched the finals.
